Swedish game developer Sharkmob have sunk their teeth into the early access release phase of the new vampire Battle Royale game, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt. Heading into the early access launch, the developers held a live brief Q&A on Twitch along with the epic pushing of the button that released the game on Steam.
Offering free-to-play 3D third-person action with the developer’s own stylish stake on the Battle Royale genre, Bloodhunt takes to the streets of Prague with vampire on vampire violence. Set in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe, players use their supernatural powers, weapons, and wits to dominate the night and restore the now broken Masquerade.
Unlike many other battle royale games, Bloodhunt adds a unique vertical gameplay element when traversing the map. From the back-alleys to to rooftops of Prague, there is almost no area that is off-limits to vampires. Preserving the Masquerade is everything. Learning to feed and navigating the city successfully are critical components for players to survive. Gameplay can be done solo or in matched teams of three with up to 45 players per match.
Early access takes place over two acts. New playable areas in Prague are unlocked with new challenges and lore progression. A Founder’s Battle Pass is available in game for 950 tokens or 2400 tokens for those who wish to skip 20 tiers. Players are able to progress through 20 tiers of free qualitative rewards with up to 100 tiers of rewards in the paid Battle Pass. Rewards include various cosmetic items such as tattoos, outfits, makeup, piercings, and avatars or other items such as tokens and XP boosts.
