Indie developer Get Up Games and publisher Iceberg Interactive have dropped a new trailer plus a Lunar New Year update for Blazing Sails. The early access pirate battle royale sails into patch 1.3 that features sail damage, themed cosmetics, and a new island.
Land ho, the Lunar Lands have been spotted. This new expansive area offers new vistas and the most vertical terrain yet to be seen in Blazing Sails. Players can climb to new heights and find their perfect sniping spot taking out enemy teams from afar. Players can find the Lunar Lands in the north between the Trident and Bandit Bay clusters.
A sampling of the new cosmetic items include Dragon and Lion hats with various color schemes. Several new emblems featuring the ox, lunar knot or lunar dragon are available too. In addition many new non-event cosmetic items have been added including straw hats, footwraps, sandals, peglegs and tattoos.
The high seas are more dangerous than ever as sails can now take damage. Special ammo is now available that works well in tearing holes in enemy sails. Just like when repairing the hull, players can use their hammer on their masts to do any repairs.
Since September 2020, the Blazing Sails Lunar Update is the third major content patch to sail into the game. In addition the game has become Iceberg Interactive’s greatest-ever hit on Twitch with over 1.7 million watch hours in 2020. A more complete list of Patch 1.3 changes can be found on Steam here.
Blazing Sails: Pirate Battle Royale is now available on Windows PC in early access through Steam or Humble Bundle for a $14.99 USD. For more information about Blazing Sails: Pirate Battle Royale visit the game’s website at blazingsails.com.
