Solasta: Crown of the Magister Winter Update Release Date

Tactical Adventures is setting a release date for the big Winter Update, the first major update to their party-based tactical RPG Solasta: Crown of the Magister. On the same release date players will also find the game for sale on GOG.

December 14 is the date for the Winter Update. A completely new area along with quests will be added. An overhaul of the lighting system, new combat features, food optimization, scavenger mechanics, and more customization options are just a taste of what is to come next Monday. Of all the changes, most players will be relieved to see the inventory improvements and the scavenger system so they will no longer have to carry all the junk they find.

Little is known about the new location other than it is the Wizard’s Tower. The developers were also kind enough to tease a couple of screenshots in their forum post about the new content. However, no context has been given in order to avoid spoilers. In the same post, a new monster was highlighted, the Minotaur. It is a fierce looking beast that is in no mood for jokes.

The tactical RPG utilizes a license granted by Wizards of the Coast to Tactical Adventures to use the Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.1 content and rules. Light is an important tool in the world and can be used as a weapon while also giving away one’s position. Unlike other games, Solasta festures elements of verticality offering even more strategical options. Each character plays a critical role in the turn-based combat campaign. Every decision puts the individual characters on a path where they could be the hero or point of failure for the group.

Currently the game can be purchased on the Steam platform. Starting on December 14, 2020, the same release date as the Winter Update, players can purchase Solasta from GOG.

Solasta: Crown of the Magister is available in early access on Steam for $34.99 USD. A Supporter DLC Pack is available for $9.99 USD that shows support for the game and adds additional content such as dice with special effects at 1.0 launch. More information about Solasta: Crown of the Magister can be found on the game’s website at or the Solasta: Crown of the Magister Discord.
