Indie developer EastWorks Studios is getting ready to release a Gray Zone demo level that will coincide with Digital Dragons 2020. The online event will run from September 15-18 and the demo will feature a level taken from the main story of the full game’s release.
In April of this year EastWorks Studios released Gray Zone in early access on Steam with five of the seven game missions of the first chapter. The game combines both RPG elements and a powerful narrative-driven story in a tactical RTS shoot’em up.
Set in the Milky Way hundreds of years from today with a story of a slave who turned against his masters the game features memorable characters, fun dialog and lots of action. Other additions to the game includes a tactical mode, new physics, hero customization and skirmish mode.
Since the early access launch the game has seen a number of updates to fix bugs, improve performance and more. An updated roadmap below lays out the next few months with the demo and Skirmish Mission 2 in September. Mission 6 is planned for October with some early gameplay video released by the developer in the video below.
November will bring Mission 7 to close out the first chapter of the game as well as some mystery updates. As with any updates the studio is always working on new content and improvements which will be added during early access when they are ready.
The Gray Zone demo, when it is made available during Digital Dragons 2020, will be an introduction to some of the key gameplay mechanics. In addition some of the recently gameplay additions will be included such as shopping, inventory management and hiring of soldiers.
Gray Zone is currently available as an early access game on Steam at the now reduced price of $18.99 USD. The game is also available on Itch.io for $14.99 USD. For more information about Gray Zone visit game’s website at grayzonegame.com or follow @grayzonegame on Twitter.
