Weekly Rewind: August 1, 2020

Welcome to the Nano Gaming News Weekly Rewind for August 1, 2020 where we cover stories and events that we missed over the past week.

This past week was bursting at the seems with lots of gaming news and more importantly several game releases on Friday. The open world survival title Wild West Survival jumped into early access. Also the monster taming RPG Monster Crown jumped into early access and Lost Wing took flight on PC and consoles after several previously held closed beta tests.

Here is a quick recap, for those that missed, of a few stories NGN covered this past week. This past week saw several games hit the market in full launch or early access. Cybperpunk visual novel thriller Synergia took players into a deep narrative while Genius Slackers took players into the mind of a high school student in the psychological thriller What Happened. The dungeon crawler Blightbound jumped into early access. More relaxing and casual gameplay was available with Merchant of the Skies now on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. Lastly a new causal management sim, Cat Cafe Manager is coming this fall.

Wild West Survival Early Access Action

Wild West Survival is an open world survival game from indie developer Altair Games LLC who is also self publishing the title. The game features an impressively huge open world and everything that would be expected in the wild west.

It is the wild west frontier and if one wants to stay alive they need to provide the basics of food, shelter, and protection. All of this can be accomplished through crafting, hunting, farming, fishing, and building. If that seems like a lot of work, well, don’t be fooled because it is a lot of work. However, if a player wants to they can partake in raiding to get what they need. In the end the name of the game is Wild West Survival and the winner gets to survive.

Monster Crown – Early Access Trailer | SOEDESCO

Monster Crown Creates Monster Legacy

Studio Aurum and publisher SOEDESCO have unleashed their monster taming RPG Monster Crown into early access. In development since 2016, the game features a dark world where the monsters rule.

Players are set forth on Crown Island where they will unravel the cruel story of the isle while creating their won monster legacy. The land has a history of sadistic rulers and heroic saviors and is currently under threat from a malicious young woman seeking endless power. In the end it is up to the player and the monster’s they make pacts with to be either be a savior or a dark messiah.

Monster Crown is available as an early access PC title on Steam for $14.99 USD. A special promotion runs until August 7 that knocks 10% off the game’s base price. More information about Monster Crown can be found on the game’s website at crownsgame.me.


Lost Wing Launch Trailer | 2Awesome Studio

Lost Wing Pilots into Release Launch

Developer BoxFrog Games and publisher 2Awesome Studio have released their super fast combat racing game Lost Wing on PC and consoles. With the release a mix of pre-made and procedurally generated tracks give players the best of both worlds with fast ships and brutal environments.

Besides the numerous challenges, ships, enemies, and traps players can compete for the top leaderboard position. Each track is filled with a variety of obstacles that players will need to either blast through or just avoid to reach the end goal. And while the adrenaline is pumping an original electronic soundtrack is blasting great beats adding to intense gameplay.

Lost Wing is now available on PC through Steam for $7.99 USD. A special promotion runs until August 7 that is discounting the game down to $5.99 USD. The game is also available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
