Double Pug Switch Platformer September Launch

Get ready to follow a pug named Otis this September in The Polygon Loft’s 2D platformer called Double Pug Switch. This is the debut title for the studio with the game launching on Steam, the page now available for viewing, consoles and mobile devices.

Gameplay follows the pug Otis as he is sucked into an alternate dimension where are mischievous cat called Whiskers resides. Players will chase Whiskers through 32 levels of action that are spread across 4 unique dimensions. At the end of each dimension Otis will have a showdown against Whiskers who acts like a boss with evolving tactics as the game progresses.

Taking inspiration from games like Geometry Dash and Super Meat Boy, Double Pug Switch uses the lovable pug to trick players into thinking this is an easy game. The gameplay is difficult and even more difficult for those looking for those perfect runs. Each level is full of obstacles such as pitfalls, spikes and traps. However, the game’s unique mechanics allows players to flip between dimensions allowing them to reach different areas, avoid obstacles or make platforms appear.

Throughout the levels are a variety of power-ups that can help players traverse the level. Some will launch or bounce the player where others may shrink them. Along the way there are gold coins and special rare purple coins to unlock the 41 different hats for Otis such as the cowboy hat and brain slug.

The game has already seen several accolades such as being highlighted in the Tentacle Zone of EGX Rezzed in 2019 and picked to showcase at the Unity Developer Day 2019.

Double Pug Switch has a launch set for September 2020. The game will be available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS and Android. More information about Double Pug Switch can be found on its website at doublepugswitch.com.
