It’s time to celebrate the holidays and the competitive quest shoot The Cycle, developed by YAGER, is out with the Miracle Over Neptune update featuring an in-game event and Map 2 preview. The event is a limited-time feature and Map 2 will be a part of the upcoming second season of content.
The story behind the holiday event has prospectors across the galaxy gathering to commemorate The Miracle Over Neptune. It was a legendary rescue operation on a doomed space station during the early days of space exploration. This miracle serves as a reminder to stick together, give to those less fortunate, and keep hope alive even at the worst of times. A full short story about the lore of The Miracle Over Neptune can be read on The Cycle’s website.
During the holiday that lasts until Friday, January 3, 2020, 12 limited-time challenges can be completed for special holiday-themed weapons and abilities. In addition players can find the upcoming Map 2 playable until December 22. There they can explore a more vertical and diverse environment that features four unique biomes plus a town center with bars and a giant spaceship.
To keep up with the holiday theme both maps have been appropriately decorated for the occasion.
For players unfamiliar with The Cycle, the game is a match-based first-person quest shooter with a focus on PvEvP action. Players can complete jobs, defeat hostile creatures, gear up with weapons and powers all in an effort to outscore other prospectors and make it off the planet alive. Every match is unique as player’s actions and decisions will determine outcomes.
The Cycle is in free to play early access for Windows PC exclusively on the Epic Games Store. Players can acquire the Fortuna Pass, a special season pass available in both free and premium tiers that features over 150 exclusive unlockable rewards.
