Dead Hand Tactical Roguelike Now on Steam

Developer One Man Army Games has released Dead Hand on Steam, their indie tactical turn-based roguelike game set in a fully destructible procedural environment.

Combining old school gameplay and modern tech, Dead Hand takes players on a ride with their Autonomous Weapons Platform. The fatalistic journey spans multiple underground caves as players work to fulfill their directives. Along their journey, players will be able to explore abandoned caverns populated by rogue robotic combat vehicles.

Featuring modular combat vehicles players can upgrade their weapons platform. Scavenging parts from eliminated enemies to improve their weapons platforms enables players to possibly stand a chance against the fearsome boss battles. Of course getting killed multiple times is all a part of the process.

The game features an old school turn-based Action Points system with freeform movement. In other words no hexagonal or square tiles. Players can destroy the environment in the procedurally generated levels. For example a player may opt to dig a foxhole to protect themselves from enemy fire or blow a hole in enemy cover with explosives.

There are no levels and no XP in Dead Hand. Progression is based upon gearing. A player’s weapons platform is quite literally the sum of its parts. Lastly, this wouldn’t be a roguelike game without permadeath.

Dead Hand is available now on Steam for Windows PC at a price of $29.99 USD. A special launch promotion runs until August 2, 2019 discounting the game down to $25.49 USD. Interested players can find the latest information about Dead Hand on the game’s website at onemanarmygames.com/dead-hand/ or on Twitter @OMAGLtd.
